SCALE

STUDENT COUNCIL FOR ACADEMIC LEARNING AND ENHANCMENT 

The Student Council for Academic Learning and Enhancement (SCALE) was established at NUST in 2025 in accordance with the Higher Education Commission’s Quality Assurance Framework (PSG-2023). Approved in the 72nd Academic Council (ACM), SCALE serves as the University’s official student representation platform for academic learning, quality enhancement, and student engagement.

Through SCALE, students contribute to institutional improvement by sharing feedback, participating in quality assurance processes, and collaborating with the University’s leadership to enhance the overall student experience. By strengthening the student voice in institutional decision-making, SCALE supports NUST’s vision of creating a responsive, student-centered, and continuously improving learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LEAD STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE:

The Lead Student Representative may carry out the following key roles, as per instructions given in PSG-2023 framework as communicated by QAA, HEC as and when necessary:

  1. Liaise with QA Dte and represent student views throughout the RIPE process.
  2. Keep SCALE (or student body) informed about RIPE progress and NUST ecosystem matters.
  3. Coordinate and support student submissions for the RIPE team.
  4. Help in selecting students to meet the review panel.
  5. Ensure smooth and continuous student participation during the RIPE cycle (as per PSG framework).
  6. Collect and share student comments on the draft RIPE report.
  7. Work with the university on action plans, especially where improvement is required.
  8. Join review panel meetings during on-site visits (if invited).
  9. Collaborate with the university to implement post-review action plans.
  10. Gather feedback from students and stakeholders to strengthen student support services.
